We will always remember John with his smile and good humour, always ready for a chat and ready to help as many people  as he could.  He has touched so many lives. Daphne & John H

A wonderful husband and dad, John will also be missed by many who knew him for his great charity work over the years and the energy he put into GoStart was amazing.  He will be sorely missed.  Susan & Mike M

We are remembering all his many attributes as leader of Gateway Club for so long.  His good humour, patience and compassion have meant so much to so many of the members and I know that our son will be really sad to have lost someone so important to him ā€“ they did a lot of joking together and he was very fond of John. Melinda V and family

He was a man who cared deeply for his family and for whatever he was involved in especially GoStart.  What a legacy he has left. My fire blanket given as a 60th birthday present for the cake still makes me smile when I see it. John & Maureen C

What a lovely man who, I am sure, brought a smile to everyone he met. I loved the friendship he and my husband had and hope they are together exchanging corny jokes.
Mary G

He was such a good, kind man and there will be many in Sudbury and elsewhere who will miss him greatly. We all at Gateway are going to miss him so much. Jenny & Patrick I

He was such a lovely man, always cheerful and I felt better whenever I met him. Joyce H

I will never forget your dad when we did crucial crew. He made it so much fun and Iā€™m sure gave up so much time to do it. Such a lovely man. Janine L

He was a fantastic person that did so much for others. The RYLA trip he got me on was fantastic for me and really helped my confidence. James J

He was one in a million ā€“ always willing to help out and of course his name will always be synonymous with GoStart ā€“ he must have helped and given pleasure to thousands over the years.  He will be missed by many in the Sudbury area and further afield. Jane & Paul M
